Writing on Speed
Because Jordi don’t listen, she write!Fucking it up?
Okay, so the last novel was a disaster, something I knew was going to happen like that. I don’t feel too fussed in keeping to the deadline. But I do find it particularly hard to sit in front of a computer and type porn. It’s the loneliness, everyone says. To me, it’s because I have a habit of watching Friends at ridiculous length and hours.
Anyway so my old idea has been scrapped – another unsurprising element. I want to go back to it but I know I never return. It’s a pity, I liked my premise of it. It was to be fuelled by the whole concept of how he really wanted to get into her pants. It starts with a lot of drunk rants, sexual magnetism and of course hockey sex puns. Though I do enjoy the fantasism and escapist fashion of hockey romance. And I have to thank Rachel Gibson for writing the first book which I could return several times. It wasn’t amazing but it presented a kind of open canvas to me. It told me how it could work. And if you couple it with every author’s motto: you entertain, not educate – I felt that my lacklustre knowledge could be substituted with a heavy dose of hot romance sporting action.
So a fortnight later.
And I am BEHIND. I need to double my word count but needless to say, I have serious SWAMPED issues right now. Life can’t be put on hold right now. Will get back to you soon <3
I am sorry!
Dear Jordi,
I am sorry I did not write today.
I will try to make up or it.
Love, Jordi.
Enter Steph!
We’ve added another one to the crowd, huzzah! One thing Steph, Finny & I have in common are our constant need to have blogs. For me it’s because I think I can organise my mess into seperate blogs. Unfortunately it does not always work. Nonetheless in my passive aggressive nature, I made Steph map out a story about a Chinchilla named Petr Jr and a fun romp through Prague. Our heroine will be aided by her hero (tentatively named Hemsko/Hemski) while they search for a missing PJ. However they do not know that Chinchillas are eaten in stews in Prague and it’s up to the heroine to not only save PJ but as well save Hemsko from a scheming girl who only wants to get PJ in her stew!
It’ll need some tweaks but it’s definitely a blockbuster. Look forward to it this September!

Day 2? 3? – 1913/60000
So here I am, a little ufazed by what I am doing but every moment I get, I’m screaming “I’m sick of this let’s stop!”
But that’s just me wimping out again. And Jordi don’t wimp out! Jordi be doing this! And she will finish this!
With that said, Finny did help out on the little prep work. She gave me feedback and I MUST always reread my work, finding something to change and problems with it. Is the blonde slut really meant to by called Cindy? Well she’s Mandi now. And even then I don’t know. I just type, I have a habit of WANTING to get it done and getting it out there. But when it’s sitting there I get neurotic and start trying to smooth it out.
And you could say that is the nature of a writer. Goddamnit, I can’t do this!
Anyhoos, apart from that, I’ve been trying to map out my character Elena to be able to visualise her and create her dialogue and actions more naturally. The heroine is always a self inspired being of the author or a certain aspect magnified ten fold for me. And Elena well, to me she does sometimes look kind of blah. Of course Clive is easier, he’s a charmer and means well. A little comical but still easier to write than Elena right now. So I need to understand how Elena is overall. I don’t want her too flirty, because she really is a kind of character who is slightly awkwardly shy because her life.
Either way I don’t want to make it too soppy and not too much about the bumping and the grinding, though the main goal in the book is that.
Not sure still. Oh well!
Prep notes, progress report & Prologue.
I’ve mapped out the start and a lot of me has been trying to brainstorm the hell out of what’s going to happen next. I’m afraid I’m going to hit a wall or fall into a hole. But you know, that’s what Finny is for!
Nonetheless I haven’t really gotten too far and right now it’s more of a write as I go method. Which will kill me considering I have very little practice (not since years ago) in writing and FINISHING a full story beyond several thousand words.
Anyway since I promised to give a short real sypnosis of the story, it’s time I practice what I preached:
Elena Krestell is a somewhat happily married co-owner of the LA Swifts, a team going into Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the New York Lions. On the night before, she finds her husband cheating on her and even worse, a romantic entanglement with the rival team’s captain, Clive Christen. While the captain moves on to win the Cup, she moves on to leave her husband and start a new life. 5 months later, she’s in New York seeking a new life and he’s having trouble struggling through a slump. The last time he remember breaking a slump was when he met a cute brunette and winning the Cup the next day. Luckily, she’s living in the same apartment block as a teammate. If it worked for the most important prize in the world, it could probably work again. The problem is, will he break her heart to get it?
And with that done, here’s the prologue.
So baby it’s you and I.
So Finny suckered me into this challenge which sounded exciting to say the least. I am fairly scared of my writing skills; I used to pay a major amount of attention to formatting and language when I was younger but I’ve completely forgotten about it. Additionally, I’m going to attempt a bad light romance – yes a BAD BAAAADDDD romance.
Nonetheless it’s the Seventy Days of Sweat Challenge, which will include yours truly attempting to write a short story about love. I chose 60K since in Jordi’s books it seemed fairly doable. However at the same time I’m not sure if I have enough creative juices to muster 858 words a day, 6000 words a week! Pray for me girls, I’m going to need it.
I won’t try to kill the mood but I will give a brief sypnosis before the first chapter. It’s a hockey themed book so my girl Finny won’t feel alone in the venture, and my hero is uninterestingly named Clive Christen and a trophy lady named Elena Krestell. The main gist is thus: Clive is the hotshot captain hockey player who once slept with Elena, the wife of a rival hockey team’s owner. Some intense shit happens and there’s a prologue of sorts but she gets divorced and they end up together em-kay?
